Our first two days were devoted to a group of older youth believer (our Disciples). We taught them how to share their faith with the world around them and how to disciple the younger youth and new believers in their communities. Our desire was to encourage them to step out in the boldness and courage they already possessed. Sometimes we just need to hear~you can...you can teach, share and build up those around you, not in our own strength, but in that of Jesus. The team and the disciples spent the next two days in the bush. We made our way through the elephant grass sharing the gospel with the families who live there and invited everyone we saw to join us for the showing of the "Jesus Film" that the evening. Sunday morning was incredible! Words just can't do it justice! To think of those in Zambia worshiping our risen Savior and the people in Granbury doing the same thing. All singing in a different tongue, but God hearing and it blessing His heart.
Monday, and our last week, came all to soon. Monday through Thursday day our disciples helped us lead a new believers class. On our last day with the new believers, we offered a time of baptism. What an amazing experience to see those new believers take that step of obedience, to declare their faith to the world and to their friends.
Monday night through Thursday nights, joined with our disciples, we walked the streets of the townships of Kitwe. We spoke with some who believed in the gospel of Jesus Christ and loved Him completely. They wanted us to stay and share scripture with them, to encourage them. We spoke with some who were ready to take their own life. They were desperately seeking relieve from the torture they were living in. Some of the ones we shared with, believed the false prophets from Buddha to Jehovah Witness. Boldly and in love we declared that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.
Our time in Zambia ended to quickly! It was time to come home...time to share what God had done in and through us...time to apply here what God had taught us there! Time to declare that during our time there God brought approx 50 people to himself, and 42 new believers stepped out in obedience and were baptized.
To those of you who prayed for us, who gave of your finances and time, who served along side us during our fundraisers, thank you just isn't enough. I pray that you are blessed beyond measure and that God reveals to you a glimpse of your reward to come!
For His Renown,
